AWC provided services for the installation and restoration of infrastructure at the Eisenhower Johnson Memorial Tunnel. The project included furnishing and installing approximately 8,500 linear feet of new guardrail at both the East and West Portals. AWC also installed new drainage channels and inlets to improve water management and oversaw the repair and recoating of the guardrail located in the eastbound bore of the tunnel, specifically along the south side.
Additional work included the installation of advanced de-icing systems at the entrances to both the East and West tunnel bores to mitigate ice buildup and enhance winter safety. Masonry on the face of the tunnel in the median was restored to maintain structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. Landscaping at both portals was also restored, ensuring the surrounding environment was returned to its original condition after construction activities.
